Mediation

I provide mediation services for individuals and families seeking to resolve conflict outside of the courtroom. Mediation is a collaborative, confidential process that allows people to work through disputes with the help of a neutral professional. It encourages communication, problem-solving, and voluntary agreement—offering a practical and often more respectful alternative to litigation. Mediation can be especially effective in family matters, custody issues, co-parenting conflicts, workplace disputes, landlord/tenant disagreements, contract disputes, and probate and estate matters—situations where maintaining relationships or finding mutually acceptable solutions is important.

There are many advantages to choosing mediation. It is typically faster, less costly, and far less stressful than going to court. Mediation keeps decision-making in the hands of the people involved, rather than leaving the outcome up to a judge or jury. It also allows for more flexible, creative solutions tailored to the specific needs of those involved. For many clients, it becomes a chance to have real input into the outcome—and to walk away with an agreement that they helped create.

Because I also work as a litigation and trial consultant, I’ve seen the other side of the process. Once a dispute enters the courtroom, the outcome can become unpredictable. There are huge amounts of variables. Control is lost, timelines stretch out, and the personal toll can be significant. In many cases, people walk away feeling unheard or unsatisfied—even if they "win." Mediation offers a path forward that preserves autonomy and minimizes risk. When clients are able and willing to participate in good faith, they can often avoid the cost, uncertainty, and emotional weight of litigation altogether.
